Pastor Jim Berlin has played music professionally for over 25 years. He has toured Europe, Canada and the United States. He has written, recorded, sang, performed and played on many CD's, singles and commercials as well as having two top 30 hits in Europe! He has performed on the same stage with countless country, Rock-n-Roll & Blues legends such as Sawyer Brown, George Jones, The Bellamy Brothers, Gary Morris, Vern Gosdin, Kenny Rogers, The Association, Tommy James & the Shondells, Herman's Hermits, The Grass Roots, Freddie King, Mighty Joe Young, Little Walter, Elvin Bishop, Paul Bloomfield, The Ozark Mountain. Daredevils and many others.
Several years ago, Rev. Berlin gave up the secular music world and rededicated his life and music to the Lord. In June 2000, he returned to ministry in the Free Methodist Tradition and is currently serving as senior pastor at the Richland Center Free Methodist Church in Richland Center, Wisconsin.
Rev. Berlin graduated with his degree in Religious-Philosophy from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin and did his graduate work at the Lutheran School of Theology and the University of Chicago, both in the Chicago suburb of Hyde Park, Illinois. He finds working with all age groups both challenging and rewarding and has spent time as a chaplain at a terminally-ill hospital cancer ward in Columbia, Missouri as well as 4 years as a chaplain and counselor at the Missouri Military Academy; a well known and highly respected preparatory school for students of all nationalities in Mexico, Missouri and pastoring 3 other churches in the Free Methodist Tradition. Rev. Berlin is known as a powerful preacher with the ability to deliver the word of God in a way that all may come to an understanding of what God wants them to receive that very day!
His music is now not only just a great love. but also a way to minister to the people of all age groups about the Lord, Jesus Christ. Whether Pastor Jim is playing solo or with his backup band "Potter's Clay", the goal is the same: to share Christ with all people and the Good News that Christ alone died for our sins and in and through Him, we have the promise of Eternal Life. Pastor Jim and his wife, Charlotte have been married for almost 39 years and have two sons: James, a Deputy Sheriff in Janesville, Wisconsin where he lives with his wife Amy and their daughters Brooke and Alexis and Michael, a computer programmer and designer who lives in Kansas City, Missouri. Pastor and Charlotte have been truly blessed with two great sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law and 2 very special granddaughters. Praise God for his Blessing of family!
Rev. Berlin is also very concerned with the many problems God's people encounter in their daily lives in today's world and knows from personal experience the only true way to happiness is through Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Today, many think of faith in Christ as a crutch that weak people use in order to get through the difficulties of their daily lives. Nothing could be further from the truth! Satan puts such ideas in the minds of those whom he controls to keep them from learning the truth: that Christ Jesus is the true foundation of all meaning in life.
